A Ukrainian Court Ruled That “C14” Is Not a Neo-Nazi Organisation

The organisation filed a lawsuit and won a trial, and then an appeal from a TV channel, which called them a “neo-Nazi group”.

The Northern Economic Court of Appeal found that the nationalist organisation “C14” is not a “neo-Nazi group”. This was reported on November 7th by the Judicial Authority of Ukraine.

Such a decision was made by the court while considering a dispute between “С14” and the “Gromadske” TV channel, which in one of their messages on Twitter called the organisation neo-Nazi. “С14” sued the TV channel and won. Later, “Gromadske” lost an appeal in court, the court upheld the decision of the court of first instance, which recognised the message of “Gromadske” as unreliable and degrading to the business reputation of the organisation.

This concerns the wording “Neo-nazi group C14…,” which is translated into Ukrainian. In the text of the publication of “Gromadske”, the following information was disseminated: “Neo-Nazi group ‘С14’ captured a fighter of the self-proclaimed ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’, the Brazilian Rafael Lusvarghi, and was going to hand him over to the Security Service of Ukraine, wrote one of the members of the group on Facebook.”

Earlier, the Economic Court of the City of Kiev by its decision satisfied the claim of “C14” and found the specified information unreliable, such that humiliates business reputation, and obliged “Gromadske” to refute the information.

Earlier it became known that the US Department of State considers the Ukrainian radical organisations “С14” and “National Corpus” to be “hate groups”. This is stated in the published report of the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Affairs in the United States.
