BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:45 P.M.) – A large attack was launched by the Syrian Air Force on the strategic town of Kabani in northeastern Latakia Saturday, as the military continues to pressure the jihadist rebels to abandon their posts in this region.

According to an army source in Latakia, the Syrian Air Force, consisting of eight attack choppers, swarmed Kabani on Saturday afternoon, inflicting heavy damage on the defenses of the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

This attack reportedly lasted for a short period of time on Saturday, as the choppers concentrated their strikes on the jihadist dens in this mountainous region of the Latakia Governorate.

Earlier this week, a source from the Syrian Arab Army told Al-Masdar that the military was making its final preparations for an upcoming offensive in this part of the Latakia Governorate and nearby Al-Ghaab Plain.
