MOSCOW, Russia – A Russian Public Opinion Research Center poll has found and revealed on Friday that more than 81% of Russians plan to vote for incumbent president Vladimir Putin if Russia’s upcoming election was to be held this Sunday.
The poll also found that the Communist Party’s (CPRF) candidate, Pavel Grudinin, would have 7.6% of the voters support, a more then double improvement from last month when CPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov was at a mere 3.3%.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky has only 4.2% of voter support.
The survey was conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center on January 8-10, with 3,000 Russians aged 18 and above interviewed over the phone with the margin of error not exceeding 1.8% with a probability of 95%, according to TASS.
