Russia Condemns Mortar Attacks on its Diplomatic Mission and Residential Areas in Damascus

Russian Foreign Ministry condemned missile attacks on residential areas in the Syrian capital city of Damascus and renewed its calls to the international community on increasing joint efforts in fight against terrorism.
“We strongly condemn terrorist raids against the Russian diplomatic mission and peaceful quarters in Damascus”, the statement, issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, read, noting Russia’s strong determination on continuing the fight against terrorism. 
The Ministry also renewed its calls to the international community in order to unite its efforts on an international and legal basis as regards the extermination of the terrorism problem not only in Syria, but the whole region as well.
Yesterday, seven civilians were injured by mortars, fired by terrorists, stationed in Damascus countryside, and aimed at Bab Touma quarter and Al Mazraa district where Russian Embassy is located.
The attacks also violated the Russia-brokered memorandum on establishing de-escalation zones in Damascus province.
