Assad says the Turks must go.  Ths is one of the messages Syria’s President delivered during a wide-ranging interview with RIA Novosti and Sputnik.  According to Assad, Syria will never allow foreign powers to occupy or partition Syria: “Either they leave, or it’s your land — you have to defend it. You have to go and fight. You can’t say ‘they can stay’ or ‘let’s negotiate’. No, you don’t negotiate. It’s your land. You defend it. You expel them, you fight them.”

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley shamed the Security Council on Thursday for criticizing her beautiful state of Israel and not doing enough to promote war with Iran.  Haley, a former Waffle House waitress, is the latest addition — and rising star — of Israel’s UN delegation.  According to Haley, “Iran is using Hezbollah to expand its regional aspirations. That is a threat that should be dominating our discussions at the Security Council.” Israel’s envoy recited some very purple prose during her remarks at the Security Council meeting:

About 300 Germans were executed by the Third Reich during WWII because they refused to serve in the armed forces as conscientious objectors. About 250 of them were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Now Russia, which lost untold millions to The Reich, has banned their church as an “extremist organization”. Are Jehovah’s Witnesses extremists? Of course they are. Extremely brave, extremely modest, and extremely persistent. So as their courage set them eons apart from an average servile German of the 1940s, so their manners and industry are quite unknown to an average Slavic Russian, and their wisdom far in excess of that of the pigheaded obrazovanshchina manning the benches of Russia’s judiciary.

A Democratic organization is attempting to pressure Republicans to support their Russian witch hunt with a series of absurdly cartoonish radio ads claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “laughing at us”. The organization, American Bridge 21st Century Foundation, is running the ads in the districts of three House Republicans – Rep. Martha McSally, Rep. Will Hurd and Rep. John Katko – in the hopes that they will support an investigation into US President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.

Another Russian soldier has lost his life in Syria. According to the Russian Defense Ministry he was an instructor killed in a firefight when rebels attempted to storm a Syrian army base. Sputnik: Russian military adviser Major Sergei Bordov was killed during militants’ attack on a Syrian Army garrison. He prevented the terrorists from entering the facility at the cost of his life, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

Donald Trump’s fake “show of force” against North Korea has resurrected an ancient question that many wise philosophers have pondered for thousands of years: Can Americans actually locate on a map the countries that they so desperately wish to bomb? We apologize for the rhetorical question.  Of course, the North Korea “incident” was not due to poor navigational skills; it was nothing more than a fear-mongering distraction to boost television and approval ratings.

Here’s the thing. Bannon got demoted earlier this month. He’s no longer in Trump’s innermost circle. Establishment media, which always hated the conservative populist, is understandably emboldened. They think he might go the way of Mike Flynn and be thrown out completely. To help things along they’re more than willing to do what they do best; concoct bizarre theories tying the target to Vladimir Saddamovich Putin. Heck, they might be silly but they seemed to work in getting Flynn replaced and Trump neutered. Oh yeah, there appears to be a slight problem in that as far as Russian moles go Bannon has been a pretty terrible one:
