Warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out on October 11 a series of airstrikes on terrorists positions in southern Idlib.
Enab Baladi, a pro-opposition news outlet, said that the Russian airstrikes targeted the area of Hersh in the outskirt of the town of Kafr Nabl.
“Russian fighter jets and reconnaissance planes didn’t leave Idlib’s sky since hours [ago],” a reporter of the outlet said.
Kafr Nabl, one of the biggest urban centers in southern Idlib, was captured by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) more than a year ago. Prior to that, the town was controlled by Turkish-backed militants.
The results of the Russian airstrikes on southern Idlib are yet to be known. The airstrikes were likely a response to the repeated violations of ceasefire in Greater Idlib.
