BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 P.M.) – The Russian Armed Forces recently completed a construction project that increased the security of the Hmeimim Airbase in Syria’s Latakia Governorate.

The project, which began earlier this year, focused on increasing the Hmeimim’s air defense capabilities and protecting their air assets from the constant attacks launched by the militants in the Idlib and Latakia countrysides.

Among the new changes at the Hmeimim Airbase was the construction of hangars to hide their aircraft from satellite photos; this allows them to conceal which aircraft they have present at the installation.

Furthermore, the satellite images were allowing the militants to have the capabilities to see where certain aircraft are located for their future drone attacks.

The Russian Armed Forces recently allowed journalists access to the Hmeimim Airbase to see the recent modifications made to the installation.
