BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:10 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed militants have captured two towns in the northern countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate today after making a push around Tal Abyad this morning.

Led by the so-called “Syrian National Army”, the Turkish-backed militants announced the capture of Mahrbel in Tal Abyad’s southeastern countryside after a short battle with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Following the capture of Mahrbel, the Turkish-backed militants announced the capture of Halaweh.

According to reports from northern Syria, the Turkish Army and their militant allies are attempting to encircle Tal Abyad before making the push to capture the city from the Syrian Democratic Forces.

If they are successful in capturing Tal Abyad, the Turkish Army will be only a short distance away from Raqqa city.
