KIEV, March 21. /TASS/. Ukraine’s economic growth indicators stand in need of a downward revision in the wake of the trade blockade of the self-proclaimed unrecognized Donetsk and Lugansk republics, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman told ICTV channel on Tuesday.
“If we forecasted a 3% growth, this meant rehabilitation of our economy was beginning and we would be able to reinvest the products (of growth) in people’s lives,” he said. “And now it appears we have to make downward revisions when the chances (for economic improvement – TASS) have just cropped up.”
“I have a question in the light of it, namely, why certain irresponsible politicians are acting this way,” Groysman said. “They render to zero the efforts we put exactly into economic growth.”
“As for the revision, we are to watch the situation with foreign currency revenues and with employments,” he said.
Members of the Verkhovna Rada national parliament representing the Samopomich party caucus said earlier they would not stop blockade of transport routes connecting Donbass with the rest of Ukraine in spite of the Prime Minister’s efforts to prove that the blockade was economically irrational.
