WATCH as Russian air force arrives in Indonesia to begin bilateral collaboration

BIAK, Indonesia – Two Russian Tupolev Tu-160 bombers and Ilyushin-76 strategic airlifters carrying military personnel arrived at Frans Kaisiepo Airport in Indonesia’s Biak regency on Tuesday for navigation exercises.

Russian crew members received a traditional lei greeting, accompanied by folkloric singing and dancing.

The island of Biak, located near the northern coast of Papua, was reportedly selected as the exercise location by Russian and Indonesian military to promote the bilateral collaboration.
